Mexican iron pellet production increases in January

Mexican iron pellet output in January increased 8.2 percent, year-on-year, according to data released by local statistics agency, Inegi. Mexican iron pellet production in January was 654,900 mt, up from 605,083 mt in the same month of the year prior.

When compared to December 2018, local iron pellet output in January 2019 rose nearly 9 percent, from 601,004 mt in December 2018.

Inegi said the Mexican mining and metals production index in January decreased 1.3 percent, month-on-month, but increased 1.9 percent, year-on-year.
