Mexican iron pellet production declines nearly 5 percent in April

Mexican iron pellet production in April decreased 4.9 percent, year-on-year, the local statistics agency, Inegi, said on Friday.

According to government data, Mexican iron pellet production in April was 621,296 mt, down from 653,535 mt in the same month of 2018.

Mexican iron pellet production in April was also 4.6 percent down, month-on-month, when compared to 651,683 mt in March 2019.

Iron pellet production in the accumulated period of January to April grew 1.9 percent, year-on-year.

Additionally, the Mexican mining and metals production index in April fell 1.3 percent, month-on-month, and 6.1 percent, year-on-year.
