Mexican iron pellet production declines 14.9 percent in May

Mexican iron pellet production in May declined 14.9 percent, year-on-year, to 575,334 mt, according to data released by the nation’s statistics agency, Inegi.

According to government data, local iron pellet output in May declined 7.4 percent, month-on-month, from 621,296 mt in April 2019.

Inegi said Mexican iron pellet production in the accumulated period of January to May fell 1.7 percent, year-on-year.

The Mexican mining and metals production index in May rose 0.9 percent, month-on-month, but slightly dropped 0.1 percent, year-on-year.
