Mexican iron pellet output up in August

Mexican iron pellet production in August rose 3.7 percent, year-on-year, according to data released this week by the nation’s statistics agency, Inegi.

Local iron pellet output in August was 623,926 mt, up from 601,890 mt in the same month of the year prior, and 10.3 percent up, month-on-month, when compared to 565,753 mt in July this year.

Accumulated iron pellet production from January to August this year improved 4.8 percent, year-on-year.

Government data indicated the nation’s mining and metals production index in August dropped 2.5 percent, month-on-month, and 7.7 percent, year-on-year.
