Mexican iron pellet output down in January

Mexican iron pellet output in the first month of the year dropped 10.1 percent, year-on-year, according to data released by the nation’s statistics agency, Inegi. Iron pellet production fell to 577,875 mt in January this year from 642,703 mt in the same month of the year prior.

Inegi said the nation’s mining and metals production index in January diminished 5.3 percent on a month-on-month basis. Following the same downtrend, the local mining and metals output index declined 6.2 percent in January when compared to the same month of 2017.
