Mexican iron pellet output down in August

Mexican iron pellet production in August dropped 1.6 percent, year-on- year, according to data released this week by the country’s statistics agency, Inegi.

According to Inegi’s data, iron pellet production rose 4.6 percent in August, month-on-month.

Inegi said iron pellet output for the accumulated period of January to August increased 2.4 percent, year-on-year.

The country’s mining and metals production index in August improved 2.9 percent, month-on-month, but fell 0.6 percent, year-on-year.
