Mexican iron pellet output declines in July

Mexican iron pellet production in July declined 0.6 percent, year-on-year, according to data released on Friday by the country’s statistics agency, Inegi.

Despite the year-on-year decline, iron pellet production improved 1 percent in July, month-on-month, from 568,993 mt in June.

Iron pellet output for the accumulated period of January to July increased 3.1 percent, year-on-year.

The country’s mining and metals production index in June rose 3.5 percent, month-on- month, and 1.1 percent, year-on- year. The same index in July dropped 3.4 percent, month-on-month, and 5.5 percent, year-on-year.
