Mexican industrial production declines in October

Mexican industrial output in October decreased 1.1 percent, year-on-year, according to data released this week by the country's statistics agency (Inegi). Industrial output in October diminished 0.1 percent on a month-on-month basis.

According to government data, industrial production in the mining segment dropped 10.3 percent in October, year-on-year, while the civil construction sector declined 1.6 percent, year-on-year. On the other hand, the local manufacturing sector saw industrial output in October rise 2.4 percent, year-on-year.

On a month-on-month basis, the civil construction and manufacturing segments both saw production decrease 0.6 percent in October, while industrial production in the mining segment grew 4.7 percent, month-on-month.
