Mexican economic activity sharply declines in April

Mexican economic activity in April fell 19.7 percent, year-on-year, and 17.3 percent, month-on-month, local statistics agency, Inegi, sad this week.

Primary activities in April were the only metric showing a year-on-year increase, Inegi said. Primary activities in April rose 2.4 percent, year-on-year.

On the other hand, secondary and tertiary activities in April declined 29.6 percent, and 16.1 percent, respectively, both on a year-on-year analysis.

According to Inegi, primary activities in April declined 6.4 percent, month-on-month. Likewise, secondary activities in April dropped 25.1 percent, month-on-month.

Tertiary activities in April decreased 14.4 percent, also on a month-on-month basis.
