Mexican car output, domestic sales and exports continue positive growth in March

Mexican car output, auto exports and domestic sales continued in March, which continues the positive growth the local industry has experienced so far this year, the nation’s automotive industry association, AMIA, said on Monday.

According to the Mexican automotive industry association, the country’s auto production in March rose by 36.2 percent; domestic sales were up by 17.2 percent, year-on-year.

Following the same uptrend, Mexican auto exports improved from 224,184 units in March 2016 to 297,571 units in March this year, a 32.7 percent growth, year-on-year.

As for Q1, Mexican auto production, exports and domestic sales rose 17.1, 14.2 and 8.9 percent, year-on-year, to 943,704 units, 750,162 units and 378,248 units, respectively.
