Metinvest’s iron ore concentrate output rises 19.2 percent in Jan-Nov

The Ukrainian mining and steel producing company Metinvest Holding (Metinvest) has announced that in January-November this year its iron ore subsidiaries produced about 32.883 million mt of iron ore concentrate - up 19.2 percent, and about 11.1 million mt of pellets - up 5.6 percent, both compared to the same period last year.

Specifically, in January-November, Metinvest's iron ore subsidiary Central GOK (CGOK) increased its iron ore concentrate output by 24.5 percent to 5.584 million mt, but saw a drop in its pellet production by 0.8 percent to two million mt, both compared to the same period of 2009.

During the first eleven months of the current year, Severniy GOK (SevGOK) produced 13.116 million mt of iron ore concentrate - up five percent year on year, and 9.095 million mt of pellets - up 7.2 percent year on year.
 
Meanwhile, in the given period, Metinvest subsidiary Inguletskiy GOK (InGOK) registered a 33.7 percent increase year on year in its iron ore concentrate production to 14.182 million mt.
