Hot tests of a new concentrate drying complex have started at Lebedinsky iron ore production facility (LGOK), a subsidiary of the Russian iron ore and steel producing company Metalloinvest Holding (Metalloinvest).
The tests are a part of the long-term investment project to increase the production of dried concentrate at LGOK. Dried concentrate is in high demand in the market of iron ore raw materials in winter.
The investment program envisages reconstruction of the plant's capacities, construction of the concentrate feeding tract and installation of two drying drums in the shop. In addition, the plan includes environmental undertakings: the complex is equipped with modern systems of gas and dust cleaning.
As a result, the performance of the concentrate drying complex at LGOK will be increased by almost 2.5 times - up to 240,000 mt per month. The level of humidity in dried concentrate will be decreased to two percent. This will make the company's products more attractive for customers.
