Kunming Iron & Steel Group’s Laotian mill to start production in March 2011

Yunnan Province-based Chinese steelmaker Kunming Iron and Steel Group has announced that its new steel mill in Vientiane, capital of Laos, on which construction work started in April this year, will commence production in March next year.

Kunming Iron and Steel will hold a 70 percent stake in the new steel mill, which will have an annual output of 0.5 million mt. The steelmaker said that it is investing RMB 118 million in the new facility.
