Kryvorizhstal overhaul on Mittal Steel agenda

Mittal Steel announced that the company is planning to modernize its recently acquired Ukrainian mill Kryvorizhstal in order to produce more flat section products. Mittal plans to increase the mill's annual production capacity to as much as 8 million metric tons through introducing advanced technology, expanding product lines and cutting costs. The company will also replace the old converters, which should reduce the pollution from the mill.
