Turkish steelmaker Kardemir has announced that at the end of September this year it will resume operations at its blast furnace No. 4, which had been halted for upgrading work.
The company stated that installation works are currently in progress within the scope of four separate investments including blast furnace No. 4, while it expects the investments in its converter No. 2, lime plant and continuous casting mills to be completed in October this year.
With these investments, Kardemir’s overall annual steel production capacity is expected to reach the level of 2.9 million mt in the first stage.
