Kardemir aims to produce 3.5 million mt of finished steel by 2019

Turkish integrated long steel producer Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. (Kardemir) has announced that in 2017 it produced 2.40 million mt of crude steel and 2.29 million mt of finished steel, respectively rising by 11 percent and 10.5 percent compared to 2016.

In the current year, the company expects an EBITDA margin between 23 percent and 25 percent compared to the EBITDA margin of 18.8 percent recorded in 2017.

Meanwhile, Kardemir expects to achieve a finished steel production volume of 3.5 million mt by the end of 2019, thanks to the ongoing complementary investments at its steel plant and four continuous casting machines which are to be built. In addition, the company stated that it plans to put its new railway wheel plant into operation by the end of the current year.
