JSPL’s Barbil site achieves record pellet production in FY 2019

According to a recent press release, Jindal Steel & Power Limited (JSPL) achieved its highest annual pellet production and dispatch at 9 million mt annually at its pelletization complex in Barbil, Odisha, 27 percent up from 7.07 million mt in FY 2018 ended March 2018. The plant dispatched 7.17 million mt in FY 2019.

The plant also achieved the highest monthly pellet dispatch at 661,786 mt and production of 677,000 mt in March 2019.

JSPL’s pelletization complex is the country’s largest single-location pellet manufacturing facility. Divided into a 4.5 million mt annual capacity Dry Grinding Unit and a 4.5 million mt capacity Wet Grinding unit. It has emerged as India’s largest pellet exporter over the last three years.
