Jinan Steel's 2006 output reaches 11.24 mio mt

SteelOrbis Shanghai In 2006, Shandong Province-based Jinan Steel's output totaled 11.24 million mt for crude steel, 9.52 million mt for iron, and 10.92 million mt for finished steel, up 7.86 percent, 13.1 percent, and 35.41 percent respectively year on year. Furthermore, the mill's steel exports rose 21.5 percent to 1.58 million mt, with export revenue of $660 million and total import and export revenue of $1.47 billion, up 30.9 percent and 33.9 percent respectively. Jinan Steel's sales revenues amounted to RMB 43 billion ($5.53 billion), up 11.4 percent, with profits increasing 4.7 percent to RMB 2 billion ($257 million).
