Shandong Province-based Chinese steelmaker Jinan iron and steel Co. (Jigang) has announced that it has successfully produced ultra-thin medium plate of 4 mm thickness at its 2,500 mm plate production line. Accordingly, Jigang has become the first Chinese steelmaker to produce medium plate of such thin gauge.
Jigang stated that with this new product it will have increased flexibility in terms of production volume, while it will also see some reduction in its production cost.
