Bayi Steel to supply plate for Alashankou oil depot expansion

Xinjiang Uyghur autonomous region-based Chinese steelmaker Bayi Iron and Steel Co. (Bayi Steel), a subsidiary of major Chinese steel group Baosteel, has announced that it has won a contract to supply steel plate for the Alashankou oil depot expansion project in Xinjiang. The project belongs to China Petroleum West Pipeline Co, a subsidiary of China's largest oil and gas producer and supplier PetroChina, which is the listed arm of state-owned China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).

The order includes supply of 2,406 mt of Q345R and Q235B steel plates for oil storage tanks. The Alashankou oil depot expansion project includes construction of two new 5,000 m3 oil storage tanks and supporting facilities.
