Jiangxi Industry and Information Commission has issued a notice on the targets for elimination of backward or outdated industrial production capacities in China's Jiangxi Province in 2012. The annual output capacities to be eliminated include 1.5 million mt capacity in iron-making, 500,000 mt in steelmaking, 500,000 mt for coke, 25,000 mt for ferroalloys, 150,000 mt for copper smelting, 80,000 mt for lead smelting, and 2.6 million mt for cement.

Meanwhile, the notice also stated that the relevant enterprises should take action to dismantle the backward capacities in question by the end of December this year.

Two 420 m3 blast furnaces of local steel producer Fangda Special Steel are to be dismantled, according to the notice issued by the Jiangxi authorities.
