Japan’s ferroalloy imports down 8.7 percent in July from June

According to statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's ferroalloy imports totaled 153,301 metric tons in July this year, decreasing by 8.7 percent month on month and down 4.7 percent compared to July 2011.

Meanwhile, in the first seven months of 2012, Japan's ferroalloy imports amounted to 974,872 metric tons, decreasing by 6.1 percent year on year.

In July, Japan's ferroalloy imports from South Africa fell by 12 percent compared to the same month last year to 31,103 metric tons, while China exported 30,068 mt of ferroalloy to Japan in July this year, up 4.6 percent year on year. Meanwhile, Kazakhstan's ferroalloy exports to Japan in July this year fell by 38.9 percent year on year, amounting to 25,465 mt.
