Japan-based steel producer Daido Steel has announced that it has commissioned one of its new vacuum arc remelting furnaces (VAR) at its Chita No. 2 Plant, having completed the installation, with the second unit expected to be put into operation by March 2025.
Accordingly, the investment will allow the company to increase its production of high-grade steel products such as clean stainless steels and nickel alloy steels for manufacturing equipment and aerospace industries, in which demand for these products is expected to rise, by 20 percent.
In the meantime, Daido Steel has shared its plans to add two more VAR units for high-grade steel production and two for titanium production by March 2027.
