Japanese crude steel output up 5.9 percent in Jan from Dec

In January this year, Japanese crude steel production was up by 5.9 percent compared to the previous month and rose by 1.3 percent compared to January 2018, totaling 8.24 million mt, according to the data released by the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF).

Meanwhile, in the given month Japan's pig iron production totaled 6.47 million metric tons, increasing by 7.5 percent compared to the previous month and up by seven percent year on year.
