The US International Trade Commission (ITC) voted yesterday in favor of conducting full five-year reviews (“sunset”) concerning the countervailing duty orders on imports of certain carbon steel products from
Belgium,
Brazil,
France,
Korea,
Mexico,
Spain,
Sweden, and the United Kingdom, and the antidumping duty orders on the subject products from
Australia,
Belgium,
Brazil,
Canada,
Finland,
France,
Germany,
Japan,
Korea,
Mexico,
Poland,
Romania,
Spain,
Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
The ITC will use the sunset reviews to determine whether the revocation of the orders would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury to US domestic industries.
Interested parties are requested to submit their comments on the ITC's decision. Generally, 95 days after the initiation of the review the ITC determines whether the responses indicate adequate interest in a full review. If the responses are adequate, the ITC will conduct a full review, which includes public hearings and questionnaires.
