ITC institutes sunset review for carbon steel products from 16 countries
The US International Trade Commission (ITC) released a notice that it instituted five-year reviews (sunset reviews) concerning countervailing duty and antidumping duty orders on certain carbon steel products imported from Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Poland, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom (UK). The ITC will use the sunset reviews to determine whether the revocation of the orders would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury to US domestic industries. The duties cover cut-to-length carbon steel plates and corrosion-resistant carbon steel flat products. Interested parties are requested to submit their comments on the ITC's decision by December 21, 2005. Generally, 95 days after the initiation of the review the ITC determines whether the responses indicate adequate interest in a full review. If the responses are adequate, the ITC will conduct a full review, which includes public hearings and questionnaires.ITC institutes sunset review for carbon steel products from 16 countries
