ITC decision on SS butt-weld pipe from three countries
The US International Trade Commission (ITC) announced its decision on the Department of Commerce's (DOC) recent affirmative findings regarding the existing orders on imports of stainless steel butt-weld pipe fittings from Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. The ITC's determinations of the DOC's findings mean that the existing orders on imports of stainless steel butt-weld pipe fittings from Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan will remain in place. The ITC determined that revoking the existing antidumping duty orders on stainless steel butt-weld pipe fittings from the three countries would likely lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury within a reasonably foreseeable time. The DOC had determined on September 12, 2005, that revocation of the antidumping duty orders would likely lead to continuation or recurrence of dumping. The decision is part of the five-year (sunset) review process required by the Uruguay Round Agreements Act. The sunset reviews concerning this case were initiated on February 2, 2005.
