Italian plantmaker Danieli has agreed with Chinese steel producer Chengde Jianlong to supply a new five-strand bloom caster to be installed at the latter’s plant in Hebei Province. According to the press release, this is going to be the second Danieli caster for long products at the location in question, while a continuous casting machine for large rounds was installed by Danieli in late 2011. The new five-strand 12-m radius caster, designed to cast 240 mm squares and 210 mm and 400 mm rounds in SBQ grades, will make use of Danieli Q-EMS technology to ensure top quality blooms on all grades.
