Iron ore imports to India drop 79 percent in first seven months

According to preliminary customs data, India has sharply decreased its iron ore imports to-date this year. Iron ore Imports in 2018 were 9.52 million mt in the first seven months of the year and dropped sharply to 1.96 million mt in the same period in 2019, a 79 percent drop year-on-year.

India imported almost 16 million mt of iron ore in 2018.
