Iran produced over 1.3 million tons of steel up to March 21, 2007, showing a 15 percent rise compared to the same period last year, said Taqi Bahrami-Noshahr, the head of the Iranian Steel Producers Association, on Sunday.
Taqi Bahrami-Noshahr expects steel production to increase to 14 million tons by the end of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2008).
Iran exported 1.5 million tons of steel products and raw steel in the last Iranian year.
