Iran Alloy Steel ups crude steel output by eight percent

Iranian alloy and special steel producer Iran Alloy Steel Co. recorded an output of 63,623 mt of crude steel in the first quarter of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2009), representing an increase of eight percent compared with the same period of last year - according to IMIDRO (Iranian mines and mining industries development and renovation organization).
 
Iran Alloy Steel, located in the central Iranian city of Yazd, is one of main alloy steel suppliers in Iran. It has an annual crude steel capacity of about 250,000 mt, which will be raised to 450,000 mt when the company's development plan will be completed. The plan in question is expected to reach completion within approximately 18 months.

Iran Alloy Steel produces heat treatable steel, case hardened steel, micro-alloy steel, spring steel, free cutting steel, carbon tool steel, cold and hot work tool steel and carbon steel. The company's products are extensively used in fields such as oil and petrochemical plants, automotive parts, machinery and tool manufacturing, as well as in medical, surgical and other fields.
