According to the economic commission of China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Inner Mongolia is planning to continue the elimination of disqualified capacities in industries such as steel and coal.

According to the newly issued schedule, in 2010 Inner Mongolia plans to eliminate 1.5 million mt of steel and iron-making capacities, 20,000 mt of iron alloy capacities and 10,000 mt of calcium carbide capacities.

Meanwhile, in order to raise the average annual output per coal mine in the region from 700,000 mt to 1 million mt, Inner Mongolia plans to close or merge coal mines whose capacities are below 300,000 mt.
