Industrial production in Russia rises by 5.9 percent in Q1

Industrial production in Russia increased by 5.9 percent in the first quarter compared to the same period of 2010. In March, industrial production in Russia rose by 11.7 percent compared with the February level and marked an increase of 5.3 percent year on year.

Russian mining output in January-March this year increased by 3.3 percent compared with the same period last year, while the output volume in the Russian processing industry rose by 10.6 percent year on year. In the given period, the volume of output and distribution of electric power, gas and water in Russia decreased by one percent compared with January-March 2010. The volume of petroleum production and gas condensate output increased by 0.8 percent year on year, reaching 125 million mt.

Production of electricity in Russia increased by 0.8 percent year on year in January-March this year to 292 billion kilowatt-hour.
