India’s RINL commences trial production at forged steel wheel plant

Indian state-run steel producer Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) has commenced trial production at its forged steel wheel plant in northern state of Uttar Pradesh, a company official said on Wednesday, February 19.

The official said that the hot trial run involved production of the first batch of forged steel wheels.

The plant located in northern India entailed an investment to the tune of $237 million by RINL and will have the capacity of producing 100,000 forged steel wheels per annum for supplies to state transporter Indian Railways once the plant goes into commercial production, the official said.
