India’s JSW improves capacity utilization at Vijayanagar

One of the largest Indian steelmakers JSW Steel Ltd has posted an 18 percent year-on-year growth in crude steel production in November of the current Indian financial year. JSW produced 600,000 mt of crude steel in the given period.

During November, JSW Steel produced 427,000 mt of flat rolled products, up 12 percent, while it produced 129,000 mt of long rolled products, up 46 percent, both compared to the corresponding period of the previous financial year.

According to the JSW Steel statement, in November this year capacity utilization increased to 68 percent at its Vijayanagar Works, up from 63 percent in October, due to increased iron ore supplies from e-auctions.
