India’s industrial production records 5.7 percent growth in July

India’s growth in industrial production as measured by the Index of Industrial Production (base year: 2011-12) rose to 5.7 percent in July this year, a five-month high, according to official government data released on Wednesday, September 13.

The data showed that in July mining sector output increased by 10.7 percent, while electricity generation was up eight percent and aggregate output of manufacturing industries recorded a rise of 4.6 percent.
