India’s Directorate General for Trade Remedies (DGTR) has recommended imposition of antidumping duties on coated/plated tin mill flat rolled steel products imported from the EU, Japan, the US and South Korea for five years.
The AD rates recommended by the DGTR are $222/mt, $251/mt, $310/mt and $334/mt in the case of exports from producers in Japan, South Korea, the EU and the US, respectively.
This situation will affect ArcelorMittal units in France and Spain, POSCO in South Korea and JFE Steel in the US, SteelOrbis understands.
The complaints to the DGTR had been filed by domestic producers JSW Vallabh Tinplate Private Limited and The Tinplate Company of India Limited. The DGTR initiated the antidumping investigation on imports of the given products in June 2019.
The products in question fall under Indian HTS codes 72101110, 72101190, 72101210, 72101290, 72105000, 72109010, 72121010, 72121090, 72125020, 72125090 and 72259900, DGTR said.
