Indian steel wheel rim producer SSWL achieves record output in August

Steel Strip Wheels (SSWL), Indian steel wheel producer for the auto sector, achieved sales of 805,881 steel wheel rims during the month of August this year, as against 519,812 in the same month of 2009, recording a growth of 55 percent.


The company has also achieved its highest-ever steel wheel production in the month in question. SSWL produced 796,418 wheel rims in August this year, compared to 527,612 rims in the corresponding month of 2009, up 51 percent.

The producer achieved export sales of 77,692 wheel rims during the month of August this year, as against 26,247 wheel rims during the month of August 2009, recording a growth of 196 percent.


SSWL achieved its highest-ever steel wheel sales revenues of INR 586.5 million ($12.8 million) in August 2010. This compares with the August 2009 figure of INR 316.7 million, increasing by 85 percent.
