Indian port traffic of iron ore up 17.9 percent during April-October

Iron ore traffic through all major Indian ports during the April-October period of the current year was recorded at 25.30 million mt, up 17.9 percent over the corresponding period of the previous year, according to data sourced from the Indian Ports Association (IPA).

The data showed that coking coal imports handled by the major Indian ports during the given period was 28.98 million mt, up by 1.7 percent over the corresponding period of the previous year.

At the aggregate level, total freight handled by all the major Indian ports in the April-October period this year was recorded at 382.91 million mt, up 3.27 percent year on year, according to data issued by the IPA.
