The Ukrainian steelmaker Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol (Ilyich) has announced that on August 4, 2008 it stopped slab caster 1150 and flat rolling workshop 1700 for scheduled repairs.

The scheduled repairs are planned to be continued for a period of nine days, following which production at the facilities in question will be recommissioned.

Although the repair of flat rolling workshop 1700 was originally scheduled for October of the current year, the mill decided to stop production at the workshop in August due to the temporary absence of orders.
