Ilyich begins operating slab caster №3

The Ukrainian steelmaker Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol (Ilyich) has commenced production operations with its new continuous slab caster №3. The production capacity of the new slab caster №3 is up to one million metric tons of slabs per year. The caster was produced for Ilyich by the Austrian firm Voest-Alpine Industrieanlagenbau (VAI).
