Spain-based Hydnum Steel has announced that it has signed a contract worth an estimated €1 billion with Gonvarri Industries, which offers steel solutions to several industries, for the supply of green steel for seven years.

Accordingly, both companies aim to provide high-quality steel products and promote the use of green steel in many industries such as construction, energy and automotive as well as to position Spain as a leader in green steel production.

Currently, Hydnum is constructing a green steel plant in Puertollano, which will have a flat steel production capacity of 2.6 million mt per year.

In the meantime, Hydnum and Gonvarri will work on optimizing the logistics in order to make deliveries efficient and to develop carbon-reduced transport solutions.
