Hebei Steel now controls 5 billion mt of iron ore resources

According to Chinese steelmaker Hebei Iron and Steel Co., the iron ore resources controlled by the company have increased sixfold in the last three years to 5 billion mt. By the end of the 2011-2015 period, total iron ore resources controlled by Hebei Steel will reach 8 billion mt, meeting 50 percent of the demand of the company.
 
Hebei Steel controls iron ore resources in the Sijiaying, Macheng and other areas in the east of Hebei Province in China. Hebei Steel currently controls almost 3.6 billion mt of iron ore resources in the region.
