Handan Steel's crude steel output nears 8 million mt

SteelOrbis Shanghai In 2006 Hebei Province-based Handan Steel registered new historical records in terms of its production and revenue levels. Handan Steel's output for last year totaled 7.93 million mt for crude steel, 6.04 million mt for iron, and 7.7 million mt for finished steel - up 8.04 percent, 12.27 percent, and 4.9 percent respectively year on year. In addition, for 2006 the northern Chinese steelmaker is expected to record RMB 28 billion ($3.59 billion) in sales revenues and RMB 1.8 billion ($230 million) in profits.
