In the January-August period this year, the ferrous metal smelting and rolling sector in China’s Hebei Province recorded a gross profit of RMB 1.46 billion ($0.2 billion), shifting from a loss in the same period last year.
174 steel enterprises in Hebei Province, out of a total of 516 steel enterprises in the province, recorded losses in the January-August period. Meanwhile, in the given period, steel enterprises in Hebei registered an overall operating revenue of RMB 1.03187 trillion ($0.14 trillion), down 0.8 percent year on year.
