Gol-e-Gohar pelletizing plant to start commercial production in mid-2010

Iran-based Gol-e-Gohar pelletizing plant is expected to start commercial production in mid-2010, after being commissioned at the end of October 2009 and having commenced trial production a few weeks later. The plant, located beside Gol-e-Gohar iron ore mine in Sirjan city, has a designed annual capacity of 5 million mt, making it the largest pelletizing plant in Iran.

Construction on the plant started in mid-2005. A total investment of about  $285 million has been spent for the project.
