Exploitation starts at new iron ore mine in southern Iran

Exploitation of iron ore has lately commenced at the Chah Cheghook mine located in the area of Hajiabad in the southern Iranian province of Hormozgan.

An investment of about $72 million has been made for the exploitation of the mine in question. The mine will have an annual output of 600,000 mt of iron ore in first phase of operations, increasing to 5 million mt per year once the new exploration project has been completed.
