Germany posts year-on-year rise in steel output

Data from Germany's Federal Statistical Office show that the country's crude steel output rose 9.2 percent year on year to 3.92 million metric tons in November. Pig iron output for the same month increased 5.2 percent year on year to 2.35 million metric tons. Compared to the previous month, November crude steel production fell around 7.4 percent while pig iron production decreased 11.4 percent. German crude steel output totaled 43.38 million metric tons through the first eleven months of the year, up 5.8 percent year on year. In addition, pig iron output amounted to 27.76 million metric tons, up 5.3 percent on the same period last year.
