France's manufacturing output in August this year decreased by 0.4 percent month on month, after a 0.6 percent month-on-month rise in July, and was up 2.7 percent year on year, according to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE). In the June-August quarter of this year, France’s manufacturing output indicated an increase of 0.1 percent compared to the previous quarter.
In August, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, increased by 0.7 percent compared to July, after a 0.7 percent rise month on month in July. In the June-August quarter, the country’s production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, increased by 0.7 percent compared to the previous quarter.
On the other hand, in August production of France's motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry saw a decrease of 2.7 percent on month-on-month basis after a 2.1 percent month-on-month rise recorded in the previous month, while the output of the domestic construction industry increased by 0.1 percent month on month in the given month after an increase of 0.4 percent in July from June. In the June-August quarter, output of the motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry increased by one percent and output of the domestic construction industry rose by 0.5 percent, both quarter on quarter.
