First phase of Bazhou WSP OCTG plant starts production

On April 28, the first phase of Bazhou WSP OCTG plant, a facility belonging to WSP Holdings, a leading manufacturer of OCTG (oil country tubular goods) based in Wuxi in China's Jiangsu Province, was put into production with a designed annual capacity of 50,000 mt. The new plant is located in Korla Economic and Technological Development Zone in Bazhou, Xinjiang and will be the only OCTG supplier in Xinjiang.

WSP Holdings has invested RMB 1.5 billion ($230 million) in the construction of the first phase of the plant, which will supply pipes to oilfields in China and the Middle East.
